We are currently renting this home and have little leeway in decorating. With such whiteness in the walls and carpeting, I wanted to add color in accessorizing this room. The master bath was already painted so it was easy to make this a nice spa retreat.

How about trying some accent pillows in golds, chocolates, or reds?

this is a gorgeous room already but i agree, it has too much white and beige. i was also going to suggest accent pillows, maybe not in chocolate, but burnt orange wd be another suggestion. an area rug w/ dramatic contrasting color wd be another easy suggestion. also, i notice u have a floor lamp at the far corner of the sofa. i think that corner between the french door and the window cd use something tall-ish, like some sculptural accent lighting in a dramatic color (preferably one of a pairing). the reading lamp could move to the other end of the sofa, either behind the side table, or switched to a table lamp there. if not sculptural lighting in the corner, how about a tall plant w/ a full top to draw the eye up?

An area rug and darker accent pillow are agreat idea, I never thought of that.
