    ACCENT CHAIRS

    Dilemma: The bamboo detailing in the chairs was too light and too island-style—definitely out of sync with the warm, woody neutral colors and contemporary and Asian themes the Agenas wanted for their space. The natural bamboo color also made the chairs feel too lightweight.

    Solution: We simply stained the round accent in the middle of the chairs, giving them more visual depth and strength. The new black accent also gave the chairs a more Asian feel, reinforcing our secondary style.

    The dark stain tied in nicely with the dark lacquer Asian side table that was sitting alongside, which the bamboo detailing did not.

    One can of stain allowed us to quickly find our accent chairs, customize them to fit perfectly with our style and color schemes, and stay within our budget.
