To regain valuable space in your home, remember: Sort – Purge – Assign a home – Containerize – Equalize.
If you start to panic at the mere thought of having to downsize or move, RELAX. Lightening your load doesn’t mean you have to throw everything out. What it does mean is getting rid of things you don’t use or love, so you’ll have more space and time for the more important things.
Having a place for everything saves time, work and frustration. Until you designate a place for things, you’ll just keep moving your clutter from one place to another. As you begin to think about storage, remember that your goal is to lighten your load and contain what’s left.
Aim to surround yourself with BEAUTIFUL and USEFUL things. Give yourself permission to let go of the rest. It’s just taking up space and weighing you down. Having less means being able to ENJOY what you have more.
What people are saying...
“Last year I found myself in a major clutter situation. I felt overwhelmed and called It’s Your Move. We made decisions together and Denise knew just where to begin, she is focused and works quickly. Denise has many talents and I made use of many of them. If it hadn’t been for her knowledge, efficiency and care, I would still be mired in clutter. She really changed my life.” – Cathey McCoun, Honolulu, HI
“Denise is an organized professional who not only assisted me by providing the service & resources; she also made suggestions that I used to downsize and to move more efficiently. She is outgoing, friendly and very positive. Her interaction with my family and friends and with the public who purchased my possessions was warm and friendly but remained professional. – Marsha Alegre, Honolulu, Hi
I could not have accomplished the downsizing and the move so effectively without Denise’s help. I highly recommend her services to anyone who is moving and especially to anyone who needs to downsize.”
“If you have Denise Mazzanti help you move, you will be very lucky! A few months ago, I had to downsize from a large 5-bedroom house after living there for over 30 years to a 2-bedroom condominium and couldn’t have done it without her. – Judith Goldman, Honolulu, HI
Denise did everything from taking photos of items I was donating (for tax purposes) to delivering donations to appropriate places such as IHS, Family Promise, Dress for Success, & Friends of the Library. Items I preferred to sell, she took care of selling on Craig’s List – doing the advertising of the items, and working with the buyer so I didn’t have to do anything.
The process of moving is stressful under any circumstances but Denise just took on the hardest part and did it with such efficiency and good cheer that the burden was taken off me. It’s a pleasure working with her, and as I look back, I can’t imagine trying to make that move without her.”
