Description:
Please help me! I have the worst open floor plan ever. My kitchen, dining and living room are one big open space. My living room as you can see has 4 windows. A 16' wall with a cold air return in the middle and some walls are 10'. I have no idea how to decorate it or arrange it. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm open to new furniture, etc..I love the pottery barn comfy, cozy look and pottery barn colors. Thank you so much. Been here 4 years and STILL don't have any great ideas.

If possible move your couches into one corner of the back wall and set up the tv against the opposite wall. This will allow your spaces to flow together nicely. If you are open to new furniture maybe look at an L shaped sectional couch. Hope this helps.

my first 2 thots are: 1) u need some tall pieces so the v high ceilings don't make the things in the room seem squashed twd the floor: bold, soaring art; tall plants, etc. 2) need to pull together a color scheme to add life to what cd be a dynamic, alive space. what pottery barn colors do u like--warm reds, ochres etc? maybe u cd find a bold piece of art that cd serve as a focal point and pull out a color scheme from those colors?

I suggest to move the tv between the air outlet and the window. Move the couch where the tv and perhaps move the chaise closer to the window. You can play with your furniture and check where it fits better. You might consider a sage green for your walls, it will look great with your wood floor and your dining set. Good Luck.

You should add some tall plants. The greenery will help to liven the place up until you move forward in decorating.

I think using a warm ochre yellowish color for the walls as well as several tall silk plants, would warm and give life to the room. A nice heavy crown molding would help lower the ceiling. It's hard to suggest a furniture arrangement but perhaps some angles? Good luck

The back of the couch is not welcoming to guests. I agree that you should move the tv to the long left wall (with vent) and rearrange the furniture. The rooms are not cohesive. I think that color would really help. Pick a few and stick with them. I love the floors! Have fun with your challenge!
