Description:
Help me with this asphalt driveway into the garage. This is very aged and eroding quickly. What suggestions do you have for something more durable, but in fitting with a home with a more rustic, distressed look. This is the driveway, so the autos go in and out everyday, and the sun's heat is really causing it to bake and crack more and more. It is so, so ugly. Besides concrete, have any great ideas? Thanks!

How about brick pavers? This would fit with your rustic-style house and it would be easy to replace bricks if cracked, etc. Only downfall may be weeds in between bricks...

My famiy had stamped concrete made to look like pavers in the driveway in front of a house 25 years ago and had the concrete colored to a rich dark brown. It still looks great all these years later! There was also a solar heating system layed under the stamped concrete so that all that hot sun could heat the water to the house. It worked like magic.

lisah, i just want to congratulate ur family for being so environmentally friendly 25 years ago. i think that was around when solar heaters were just beginning to catch on, but i've never heard of a system layered under concrete--brilliant and innovative!

Can you show us pictures of the exterior of the house so we can help to recommend some ideas for your driveway?
