Lissa Rodrigues is RSVPstyle’s connection to the virtual world. With 20 years of expertise in Information Technology, Lissa oversees the slick, layered RSVPstyle.com website for home design and décor enthusiasts.
Lissa and Cathy Lee have been friends since Lissa started dating Cathy’s brother in high school. The girls eventually became sisters-in-law, and Lissa began a successful career managing and implementing Information Technology systems for the retail, oil and newspaper industries in Honolulu. By late 2006 she was ready for a change from corporate life.
The idea for RSVPstyle was a natural. Lissa had long been interested in design and décor, but as a full-time working mother never had the time to develop her interest. When she and her husband bought the home of their dreams, in stepped Cathy. She guided Lissa through each step of the remodel and interior design, giving her practical tips and explaining everything from color schemes to furniture choices and paint finishes. Most important, Cathy taught Lissa that with inspiration and guidance, anybody could learn to decorate a room.
The two realized the time was right for an online home décor community. They were a perfect pair: Cathy would be the face and design expert of RSVPstyle, while Lissa would be its technical wizard. Her business background would help her navigate the project and manage strategy and operations. Thanks to friendship, family ties and a passion for design, Lissa can finally call her work a labor of love.
